🧱 Who’s Really in Charge? When Property Managers, Boards, and Lawyers Close Ranks

In the wonderful world of condos, you’ve got a Condo Board, a Property Management Company, and a Law Firm all working together. Their secret mission? To make sure you, the unit owner, never ask too many questions.

It starts with the Property Management Company acting like a brick wall, deflecting your inquiries with vague answers or just plain silence. The Condo Board happily lets them do it, creating a nice buffer. But the real fun begins when the Law Firm steps in. They’ll send you official-looking letters, citing “confidentiality” and even hinting at legal trouble if you keep digging.

This trio works together to make asking questions a nightmare. Condo meetings are rushed, information is buried in complex reports, and new rules pop up that make it nearly impossible to get a straight answer. Everything is funneled through layers of bureaucracy designed to frustrate you.

The bottom line? You pay your fees, but you don’t get answers. This lack of transparency leads to distrust and can seriously mess up your condo community. So, while they’re ensuring “peace of mind,” they’re actually stripping away your ability to know what’s going on.
