🗳️ The Best Candidate Represents Everyone

Because a strong community means balancing every voice

🏠 Two Different Realities, One Community

Our building is home to two very different groups:

  • Younger owners who bought during an overheated market, stretched their budgets, and are now facing mortgage renewals at crushing interest rates.
  • Long-term owners who bought decades ago when units cost a fraction of today’s prices, many of whom are mortgage-free and less affected by current financial pressures.

These realities are both valid – but they require a board that understands and balances competing interests.

⚖️ Why Balance Matters

A candidate who only represents one segment risks deepening divides:

  • If the board ignores younger owners, they risk pushing families into financial strain and making the building unaffordable for future buyers.
  • If the board ignores long-term owners, they dismiss decades of experience and stability that benefit the community.

The right candidate listens to everyone, weighs the data, and makes evidence-based decisions that protect both today’s affordability and tomorrow’s property values.

🚨 What’s at Stake

When one group dominates the boardroom, bad decisions follow:

  • Special assessments without consultation
  • Spending priorities that don’t reflect everyone’s needs
  • A growing gap between what owners can afford and what the board demands

We’ve already seen what happens when voices are ignored – it leads to conflict, mistrust, and financial stress.

âś… What to Look for in the Best Candidate

The strongest candidate is someone who:

  • Represents all segments of the community
  • Understands financial realities from both ends of the spectrum
  • Promotes transparency and fairness in every decision
  • Asks hard questions about budgets, reserve funds, and long-term planning
  • Puts the entire community ahead of personal agendas

🗳️ Your Vote Shapes the Future

This election isn’t about choosing sides.
It’s about choosing leaders who can bridge gaps and make decisions that work for everyone.

When reviewing candidates, ask yourself:

“Does this person represent the interests of the whole community – or just people like them?”
