🐾 Leash-Free Dogs, Leash-Tight Owners

By

☕ The Balcony Scene

Me, peacefully sipping coffee.
A dog struts by without a leash.
Blazer in the backyard, doing his best impression of a garden gnome.

Nothing happens. Because nothing ever happens.

🐕 When It’s Someone Else

Dogs off-leash? Every day.
No warnings.
No enforcement.
No lawyers.
Just the shrug of “that’s fine.”

👩‍🦽 When It’s Me

Now switch the characters:

  • Service dog on leash
  • Disabled owner asserting rights
  • Law squarely on my side

What do I get?
📨 Complaint letters
⚖️ Hearings
💸 Thousands in legal bills
🔥 Public smear campaigns

⚖️ Rules for Thee, Not for Me

Let’s recap:

  • 🐶 Dog unleashed in common areas → “Oh well.”
  • 👩‍🦽 Glinda with a service dog → “Call the lawyers! Bring the gallows!”

Apparently, pets here enjoy more freedom than people.

🐍 The Real Hypocrisy

This isn’t governance.
It’s hypocrisy on a leash – tightening around my neck while dogs prance freely.

Maybe Blazer should just leash the board instead. At least then, someone would finally be under control.
