(A modern fable, adapted from Aesop’s “The Ant and the Grasshopper”)
🌞 Summer of Warnings
While the sun shone bright, the Whistleblower warned:
“You are breaking the law. You will lose in court.
Your condo fees will explode – I can already see the line items.
I’ve forecasted your increases to the penny.”
But the Board laughed, waving her away.
“All is well in Blenvale! Stop being dramatic!”
They mocked her calculations, dismissed her evidence, and turned her into their favourite villain.
The crowd, drunk on denial, applauded the lie because it sounded pleasant.

❄️ Winter of Reckoning
Then came the invoices.
Special assessments, legal surcharges, – the frozen harvest of arrogance.
The same owners who once sneered at her flyers now gasped:
“Why didn’t anyone warn us? Why didn’t we see this coming?”
The Whistleblower, weary but steady, replied:
“I did warn you. You just preferred to ridicule the one who could count.”
⚖️ Moral
Those who mock the truth in summer pay compound interest in winter.
And every ignored warning eventually arrives – itemized.
