🧠 Board to Death: The $400,000 Prophets

By

In the 25th Hour – Remember, I Warned You.

“The Board must seek guidance from qualified professionals.”
The Board of Directors, right before sending another invoice to you.

🎩 The Gospel According to the Professionals

Ah yes – the Professionals.
Those mythical creatures who materialize every time the Board needs “guidance.”
They arrive in pairs, like doves of wisdom, armed with binders, buzzwords, and billable hours.

For the modest price of $400,000 (and counting), they have graciously guided us into:

  • A Reserve Fund “pause” (a.k.a. cash flow coma)
  • A Special Assessment symphony conducted in flat notes
  • And, of course, an ongoing legal opera with no closing act in sight

Truly, worth every cent of our collective despair.

đź’¸ Professional Advice, Amateur Outcomes

The logic is divine:
If something goes wrong – pay more professionals.
If it still goes wrong – hire different ones to explain why the first ones were right.
Repeat until broke.

At this point, I half expect the next update to read:

“The Board, on advice of professionals, has retained more professionals to determine why professional advice continues to cost so much.”

🪞 The $400,000 Reflection

When you read that “guidance from professionals” line, remember what it really means:
Someone got paid handsomely to tell the Board what common sense would have told them for free.
But who needs logic when you can outsource it at $600 an hour?

đź”” In the 25th Hour – Wake Up

You were warned.
When I said it years ago, you rolled your eyes.
When the bills started, you shrugged.
When the Reserve went missing, you rationalized.

Now, in the 25th hour, the meter’s still running – and you’re the one funding the sequel.

Wake up.
Vote with your brain this time.
Because the “professionals” don’t live here – you do.
