A Fable for the Blenvale Ages – with Irish bite and zero mercy ☘️🖋️
🏚️ THE SETTING
In a little condominium kingdom called Blenvale, a band of self-anointed geniuses strutted around like roosters who’d discovered mirrors. They fancied themselves clever – too clever—and believed the whole community was a flock of dim-witted hens ready to be plucked.
In truth, they were just thieves with paperwork.
🦊 THE THIEF
The Thief wasn’t the sort who lurks in shadows. No, this one stole in daylight and then demanded applause.
He stole trust with false promises.
He stole money with bad decisions.
He stole integrity through silence and spin.
And the worst theft of all?
He stole dignity from the people who dared ask questions.
Every time an owner caught him with his hand in the reserve fund cookie jar, he smirked and said,
“No, no, you’re imagining that. Trust us.”
Like a fox explaining feathers stuck in his teeth.
🐑 THE IGNORANT
But the Ignorant… ah, the Ignorant played their part too.
They nodded along.
They clapped at nonsense.
They believed the fairytales about overdrafts that weren’t overdrafts, borrowing that wasn’t borrowing, and legal bills that apparently sprouted from the sky.
They shushed the neighbour who shouted “Fire!” while the building filled with smoke.
Because in their minds, peace was more important than truth.
🔥 THE CLASH
One day, the Thief met someone he couldn’t handle.
A woman who didn’t nod.
Didn’t bow.
Didn’t swallow lies to stay polite.
Didn’t mistake fear for respect.
She had the audacity – the unforgivable sin – to think.
The Thief puffed up his chest and declared,
“You cannot speak up. You must obey.”
And she replied,
“I grew up in a country where speaking up could get you disappeared.
You think you can silence me? In Canada? In 2025?
Go on, try.”
The Thief blinked, confused.
Nobody had ever talked to him like a real adult before.
🔍 THE MORAL
Every fable needs one, so here it is:
A thief can only steal when the ignorant stays ignorant.
But the moment even one person stops playing dumb, the whole illusion collapses.
And I stopped playing dumb a long time ago.
If you want to play the part of the Fool at the village fair – be my guest.
But don’t expect me to join you on the stage.
I see the Thief for what he is.
And I’ll keep saying it, loudly, in every room, until the lights go back on.
☘️ THE END – OR THE START
The Thief believes the community is stupid.
The community believes the Thief is clever.
Both are wrong.
And eventually, the truth comes knocking — even on Blenvale’s door.
Stay tuned. The next chapter writes itself.
