If This Were Any Other Context…

By

Sometimes the best way to expose nonsense
is to move it somewhere else
and see how fast it collapses.

Let’s try that.

✈️ Airlines

“We acknowledge your wheelchair is medically required,
but for operational consistency, we’d prefer if you considered hopping.”

“Several passengers find your accommodation upsetting.
Please explain why your disability can’t be quieter.”

“Our policy allows assistive devices,
but only if no one notices them.”

🏥 Hospitals

“Yes, the surgery is medically necessary.
However, have you tried simply enduring the pain?”

“Your specialist agrees this treatment is essential,
but our volunteer committee feels differently.”

“We’ll discuss your condition with legal
and get back to you in six to eight months.”

🏫 Schools

“We recognize your child has a documented learning disability, but providing support may set a precedent.”

“Other parents are uncomfortable with accommodations.
Fairness requires everyone struggle equally.”

“We don’t dispute the diagnosis.
We just don’t accept it.”

🏢 Condos (for comparison only)

“We support accessibility.
Just not in practice.”

“We respect human rights.
Please stop enforcing them.”

“We’re not discriminating.
We’re just exhausted by your existence.”

🔍 Funny how this works

In airlines, hospitals, and schools,
this logic would be laughed out of the room
– or sued into oblivion.

But move it into a condo boardroom
and suddenly it’s called “process,” “balance,”
or “just a difference of opinion.”

🧠 The punchline

Discrimination doesn’t become reasonable
because it wears beige carpeting
and calls itself governance.

Absurd logic is still absurd – no matter the building.
